Plan has programs in Nicaragua in 4 different rural areas in the departments of Chinandega, Masaya, Chontales and Managua. Plan also works in urban neighbourhoods in the capital of Nicaragua as well as with 13 orphanages located throughout the country. There is a wide array of projects taking place in all these areas focusing on Health (primary and reproductive), Learning (primary and secondary), Habitat (housing, water and sanitation), Livelihood (income generation) Community Organization and Children's Circles. The ultimate aim of Plan is help people reach a level of self-sufficiency where assistance is no longer required.

People United is a non profit organization only working with volunteers to help people in need in Nicaragua, we focus on education, of course the ´future´ of Nicaragua. What started with donating some pens and pencils to a local school in 2002, quickly developed into an organization with already many projects on it's name. The latest is the construction of a school at the Vulcane Mombacho just outside Granada. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the world, there is no money to built schools, to buy materials or whatever. We try, with the help of all our sponsors to make a difference, and we do!
