The pardon of the I.A.D.B. was obtained
within the framework of the Initiative for Poor Countries Highly
Indebted (HIPC, in English), created by the multilateral organisms
in 1996 to help to the countries with a rent per capita minor to the
695 dollars in 1993.
The HIPC has favored to 45 nations with
severe problems of external debt, of which 33 are of Africa, four of
Asia and four of Latin America, among them Nicaragua and Honduras.
The decision taken yesterday in Holland by
the Committee of Governors of the I.A.D.B., will have to be made
official in the Assembly of Governors of the I.A.D.B., the 16 to the
20 of next March in Guatemala.
The Assembly is integrated by the
countries members of the I.A.D.B., in the people of the ministers of
Property or Finances.
