The European Union (UE) will stay
to the expectation of the measures that will impel the new
government of president Daniel Ortega, and will define its
cooperation as is respected the institucionalidad, the
democracy and it fights myself decidedly against the
corruption, affirmed the vice-secretary of State for Outer
Subjects of Italy, Famiano Crucianelli.
The high position arrived at the
country as delegated from the Government of Italy to
participate in the taking of possession of Ortega.
To criterion of Crucianelli,
Nicaragua “still is in a transition situation” reason why it
considers important “to mobilize to all the economic, social
and financial forces to obtain the future of Nicaragua”.
It assured that they think to
increase the cooperation with the new Government, which has
in the last decayed years due to budgetary problems of the
Italian Government, although did not specify amounts.
“We have spoken with the Mayor of
Managua (Dionisio Marenco) on problems of environment and
waste baskets. We have been the Secretary of State (Samuel
Santos) and have also spoken on the economic problem and of
cooperation”, it said.
IT ANTICIPATES GREATER
BUDGETARY SUPPORT
It also indicated that as much
Italy as European Unión (UE) is interested in improving the
cooperation of budgetary aid for Nicaragua, although this
implies that the country must also maintain a policy
coherent.
It said that the arrival to the
power of Ortega does not represent a risk for the relations
between the UE and Central America, because until the moment
they do not see any problem.
It added, when talking about to
the message of the new president the 10 of January when
assuming the power, that “we must watch the concrete thing,
is a little while of words is said of everything when it is
spoken, but now we have to do what is going to happen
concretely, and it seems to me to understand that there is
an intention to guarantee all the democratic transparency
that it is necessary at this moment”, emphasized.
According to the Italian vice
chancellor, the UE is betting strong to the negotiations for
an Agreement of Free Association with Central America.
The negotiations for the
association agreement, including a Treaty of Libre Comercio
(TLC), are predicted to initiate during the first semester
of this year
