It also indicated that as much Italy as European Unión (UE) is interested in improving the cooperation of budgetary aid for Nicaragua, although this implies that the country must also maintain a policy coherent.

It said that the arrival to the power of Ortega does not represent a risk for the relations between the UE and Central America, because until the moment they do not see any problem.

According to the Italian vice chancellor, the UE is betting strong to the negotiations for an Agreement of Free Association with Central America.
