Samuel Santos, future Chancellor of the Republic in the new government who assumes the sandinista leader today Daniel Ortega, maintained yesterday bilateral meetings with the delegations of Japan and South Korea, that are of visit in Nicaragua in occasion of the possession taking.

Saints said that the Koreans as much as the Japanese have shown interest in the project of the construction of an interoceanic channel in Nicaragua.

“They asked on the interoceanic channel, definitively are interested, but they are talks that begin”, it affirmed. Also he said that there is interest to invest and to cooperate more.

The new chancellor affirmed that the meetings with both delegations were similar, and that “are very friendly talks that feel the bases so that soon more specific conversations are developed”.

Also, he indicated that the FSLN was the only party that in its program of government took the project of the interoceanic channel.

“That transforms Nicaragua, transforms to Central America and transforms the world”, indicated.

The incoming chancellor met with the Korean delegation, headed by the president of the Commission of Outer Relations of Korea, Kim Wom Hung and later with the vice-minister of Outer Relations of the government of Japan, Midori Matsuhsima, that was made accompany by the ambassador of that country in Nicaragua, Mitsuhiro Kagami and the rest of the Japanese mission.

When leaving the meeting with the Japanese representation, Holy he indicated that “they send the message to him to president Ortega, of which they are going to maintain the support levels which they have had until today and which they are exploring new projects to increase the collaboration”.

“With the Korean delegation we have had a conversation very seemed, they very are interested in the development of Nicaragua, also are conscious and clear that the project of the Sandinista Front is a democratic project, that the Sandinista Front is deepening the democracy, economic policy and in Nicaragua”, he commented Saints.

Ortega did not attend

The program of bilateral meetings emitted yesterday by the organizing committee of the transmission of presidential control of the Chancellery announced that the encounter with the Asian delegations would be between these and elect president Daniel Ortega. Nevertheless, Ortega delegated Saints.

Saints justified the absence of Ortega saying that “what happens is that there are meetings that president Ortega is impossible that he is physically, then he has delegated in me and some other companions”.
